A guy from Wilson who was sitting next to me at the end of the tourney championship game said "I can't imagine any team in WNY being better than Canisius".  After what I saw from the Crusaders in their first two games, he just might be on to something.

Tournament MVP Aaron Nevins lit the Frontiers up for 31 points, and led Canisius to a 97-73 victory.  Sophomore Adam Weir came off the bench to score 23 points for the Crusaders.

In the consolation game, Brunswick of Ohio defeated Wilson, 71-51.  Pat Forsythe led Brunswick with 21 points, while Brennan Moxham finished with a game-high 22 points for Wilson.

All-Tournament Team

Gordon Lyons – Canisius

Deon Artis – Riverside

Gilbert Herrera – Riverside

Pat Forsythe – Brunswick

Brennan Moxham – Wilson

A couple bits of info I picked up today. Heard Sal Constantino is doing a helluva job at the Falls, absolutely no surprise here, and they ran Will South hard in a recent scrimmage and look to be a top team once again. In the Will East/Clarence game heard that a rugged 6’4″ kid from East gave Funk a real tough go despite Funk’s 23.

As for the Crusaders, great start, but I would be hesitant to crown anyone as the best team at this point in the year. Championships are won in March, not December!

Very solid performance by the Crusaders. Their guards are deep and all can shoot it and defend. They will be a handful for anyone they play this year. No surprise to me.

Love the new site. I’ll probably be blogging on here more often than the News’ website as getting my screen name subscribed on their has been a headache and a pain in butt. Looking forward to this season and hope to see all out there in the stands.

Welcome SC! I also tried to register on the News site and got a page saying I would receive an email, which never came, in a few minutes and that I’d have to click a link to register. I’m still waiting. Unfortunately for Keith, the new web site has set all his hard work back three years. It’s a darn shame.

It’s nice to see some familiar faces (or blog names) on this website as well.
