Class C:  Middle College Kats 62, Early College Cobras 58

After taking a 10-point lead by halftime, the Kats saw Early College fight back and threaten to end their season.  But unlike last year when Middle College went out in the regional, the Kats got clutch free throw shooting from Amir Jemes down the stretch, as the senior point guard calmly sank his last six attempts.  Middle College heads back to Glens Falls for the fourth time since 2010.

"When I first got to the line, I was a little shaky because I missed my first one & one," said Jemes.  "But when I got back there I had to make them…I couldn't go back to the same position I was in last year."

Class D:  Panama 70, CG Finney 57

Despite being able to recruit from the City of Rochester, CG Finney, a private school located in Penfield, hides behind its enrollment numbers and competes against legitimate public schools from Class D.  After leading by nine points in the first half, CG Finney cooled off and watched Panama win the third quarter 23-10, as the Panthers overtook the Falcons, reaching Glens Falls for the first time in school history.

"They came out shooting lights out," Panama coach Ed Nelson said.  "In the second half, we had to work harder on defense, we had to make sure we closed out better and contested.  This is special right now – it's the first time Panama has been to the show and I'm proud of them."

"What could go wrong did go wrong," Niagara Falls coach Sal Constantino said. "At the end we didn’t want to quit…the final score is not going to dictate our season."
