** According to the rankings…

– If you win the section, you become a ranked team in the state.  After a season of 'No teams ranked' in Class AA, Niagara Falls is in at #21.  Next stop, the state's highest ranked public school (#3) from Fairport.

– North Tonawanda is on the board in the state for the first time all season.  The Jacks debuted at #23 in NYS Class A.  They await the winner of Wayne vs. Irondequoit on Thursday night.  If they draw Irondequoit, they'll get a shot at Class A's #1 ranked team in NYS, after taking down WNY's #1 ranked team.

– Canisius went from unranked to #12 in NYS Class A after winning the Manhattan Cup.

– Williamsville South fell to #24 in NYS Class A after losing in the Class A1 Final to North Tonawanda, while Olean snd Timon fell out of the top 25 completely after semifinal losses in the postseason.

– St. Mary's plays for a CHSAA Class B state championship on Saturday against NYS Class B #3 LaSalle Academy.  The Lancers remain unranked in NYS Class B.

– Health Sciences will have to win a second straight game against a team ranked ahead of them in the state in order to advance to the state final four in Class B.  The Falcons knocked off #11 East Aurora in the B1/B2 Crossover on Tuesday and now face #12 Mynderse this Saturday.

– Chautauqua Lake moved up to #6 in NYS Class C and will need to pull off an upset in the Class C Far West Regional to get to the state final four.  The Thunderbirds await the winner NYS Class C #2 Northstar Christian vs. #4 Cuba-Rushford.

– Franklinville is all the way up to #3 in NYS Class D and will face the winner of #5 CG Finney or unranked Elba on Saturday.
