******** According to the rankings above……..

 - For a second consecutive week, there's not a top 25 team from Buffalo or Rochester in NYS Class AA.  I blame the Romans and their Free Academy.

– Canisius is #1 in NYS Class A once again this week, while Park jumped up from #10 to #4.  Less than two weeks until they square off at The Park School for Round One (Saturday, January 20th).  Chaminade, who defeated Williamsville South over break, is #2 in NYS Class A.

– West Seneca West crept up two more spots to #15 in NYS Class A.  However, the Indians still have three teams from Section V ranked ahead of them.  None have played as many games and two have more losses than undefeated WSW.  Just when I thought it was all about the record…

– Timon fell from #19 to #25 in NYS Class A for a double figure loss at Canisius.  The moral of the story is, win a big tournament in Rochester and the reward is minuscule.  Lose to NYS Class A #1 on the road and the punishment is severe.

– Health Sciences is once again #3 in NYS Class B this week, with two NYSPHAA schools ahead of them.  Hey panel – have you seen these Falcons play yet?  The same ones that took Canisius to the end and beat Frannies on the road?  If there's two NYSPHAA schools from Class B better than The Health, I'll start watching from the baseline.

– St. Mary's moved up one spot to #11 in NYS Class B for winning at Niagara Catholic, but the Patriots dropped four spots to #25 for the loss.

– Speaking of Niagara Catholic, they are "tied" for #25 with Center Moriches.  That's right, tied.  Even Tee-ball thinks that's whack!  If Center Moriches played Niagara Catholic, they'd leave Center Morindebt.

– Tapestry is #7 in NYS Class C, while Chautauqua Lake is #17.  More notable is there are two teams ahead of those two in the rankings from Section V.  Maybe Northstar Christian, but Pembroke deserves a spot ahead of Tapestry?  They are 9-0, but ask West Seneca West where that gets you.

– Section VI still has three teams (Franklinville, East, & Ellicottville) in the top seven of NYS Class D, but Section V still has one team ranked ahead of them all.  We shall see, but I like our chances just fine in Class D this year.
