The final state rankings for the 2018 the season have been released by the NYSSWA.  Below are the WNY teams that made the cut:

******** According to the rankings above……..

 

– It's like I said all season -  'Section VI — We Have The D's' !!!  Three of the top five teams in the state and four of the top 20.  Maybe we should be a Section VI party for when the All-State Teams are released, because in a power season like 2018 was, we should be well represented!  

 

– Our Class A nearly as impressive, holding down four of the top 12 spots, including #1 Park and #3 Canisius.  Five teams in the top 23.

 

– In Class B, Health Sciences finished at #6, but ended up as the fourth highest ranked public school.  Olean finished one spot behind them at #7 with Briarcliff being the only non-private/non-charter school ranked ahead of them in NYS.

 

– Tapestry finished the year at #6 NYS Class C with Northstar Christian (who ended their season) and Pembroke (who played a closer game with Northstar) as teams from the Far West Region ahead of them.  Allegany-Limestone, who was unranked all season, finished #15.

 

– Ultimately not too shabby for WNY this season.  Between the five classifications, we finished with the best team in two of them, five top 5 teams, and nine top 10 teams!  Oh yeah, and We Have The D's!!!
