Niagara Falls had originally scheduled two of its nonleague games in the Primetime Shootout.  However,  sponsorship for the event was retracted and the event was cancelled for this season.  That left the Falls ready to accept anything to get those two games back…even a much lesser opponent.  Well, it sounds like were able to find a pair of games to challenge its program after all – or as NFHS head coach Sal Constantino put it, "we've hit the scheduling lottery".

Niagara Falls has accepted a bid to play in the Burger King Classic in Erie, PA beginning Friday, January 13th.  The Wolverines will be in a traditional tournament format and take on Milton (GA) at 7 pm.  A matchup between Jamesville DeWitt (Syracuse, NY) and host school Cathedral Prep (PA) will follow.

Saw East Aurora play St Mary’s 2nite w Bulls Fan. Stan has times where he looks like the kid who lit up Dewitt in the Fed Final as a soph. Kids around him work hard, just not that good. Can’t c them making a run in A2 unless Stan has over 30 a game, which is possible. Good 2 c him back out there.

I was unable to make the games tonight, but from what I saw last night, I would disagree. Ian Allen had the best game for EA in its win over Bennett and I thought Mike Rhoades, Chris Bourne, and Brendan Cox were all good players for the Blue Devils.
Maybe tonight was more of a testament to the strength of this year’s Lancers team, which I’ve been very impressed with early on. I can’t say for sure because I wasn’t there, but I’m definitely not surprised St. Mary’s won handily.
I think EA has as good of a shot as any team at this point in Class A2 and I don’t think Wier has to force things offensively (go for 30 a game) for that to happen.

Some info about Dallas Jesuit…playing Joe’s tonight and in the Canisius tourney. They are a 5A school(largest class in Texas). They are not currently ranked in the 5A top 25, but have played two teams that are, losing to #7 Strake Jesuit 72-63 and beating #12 Plano West 71-59. They are 7-2 overall.
They look to have good size across the board, most notably 6’6 SG Steve Spieth and 6’5 wing David Lacey. Lacey has been referred to as a D-1 sleeper.

Dallas not a bad showing vs Strake as their best player already signed with Duke and Strake’s point guard is D-1 as well signed with Ark Little Rock. Dallas should add some flavor to the weekend.

Good stuff from TML, as usual, and coach. Unfortunately I’ll be traveling and won’t be able to see what should be some of the best basketball of the season.
And what is it with the Keenan classic and snow?? The best I can figure is that Coach is probably arguing strategy in heaven and having a massive snowball throwing contest with it all depositing on and around the Delaware campus of CHS.
