Random Smatterings 2026 – Week 6

– Brocton has a junior on its roster with the same name as a former 1st round pick of the Buffalo Bills, CJ Spiller.

– St. Mary’s victory over St. Joe’s on Tuesday snapped a 15-game skid against the Marauders that dated back to the 2018 season.

– Maximus Parmentier recorded a triple-double in Falconer’s 75-36 victory against Allegany-Limestone.  The 6-6 senior scored 16 pts, collected 13 boards, had 10 assists, & earned 6 steals in the win.

– Lockport senior Charlie Croff is shooting 89% from the free throw line this season on 61 attempts.

– On Monday evening at Salamanca, I noticed an orange skittle sitting on the court, inside of the jump ball circle.  As I became preoccupied with every possession passing back-and-forth, waiting to see someone disrupt the skittle, minutes on the game clock went by.  Then suddenly, almost as if he was scanning the court for it, the referee on the game spotted it, leaned down, and casually backhanded it in my direction to get it off the court.  Some lucky fan got a free orange skittle out of the incident.

– On Wednesday evening, Williamsville North allowed a season-low 23 points to Frontier, a team that averages 49 points per contest.

– After scoring just 1 point in the opening quarter, Randolph found itself trailing Frewsburg at halftime, 14-6.  The Cardinals rallied to earn a 37-32 victory in the game.
