Game of the Week – St. Joe's @ Canisius on Saturday, January 29th

– Round one of the biggest high school basketball rivalry in WNY happens on a Saturday this year.  Both schools are ranked in the top ten and each will likely be unbeaten in the Monsignor Martin at tip-off, making it a battle for first place.  Last season during round one at St. Joe's, the Crusaders sprinted out to a 29-5 first quarter lead, prompting the chant "just like football" from the Canisius student section (a chant they won't be using this year).   The rematch at Canisius was a whole different story, when a memorable 3-pointer from Steve Moser sent the game to overtime.
